Bay Village is the smallest neighborhood in the city of Boston, with less than 1500 residents. The area is served by the MBTA Green Line and Orange Line, as well as having commuter rail and Amtrak train stops within walking distance. Famous writer Edgar Allan Poe was born in the Bay Village neighborhood, although the house he was born in, 62 Carver Street, no longer exists. Edgar Allan Poe Square is approximately 2 blocks north of his birthplace and since 2014, has been home to the statue “Poe Returning to Boston”.
